September 29, 2023 – Pickering, ON – The City of Pickering recently expressed concern that the Haunting of Hexwood event scheduled for Oct 6 – 31st at the William F. White Backlot located at 3800 Sideline 32 was unable to proceed as planned.
Hexwood’s unique location, not typically available to the public, demands greater preparation than the conventional venue. To ensure the safety of our guests and enable public access, we have had to implement additional safety measures. Our team has been working tirelessly in collaboration with the city of Pickering, as well as consulting with appropriate experts and engineers.
Our primary goal is to ensure guest safety while preserving the innovative and thrilling experiential design we’ve worked so hard on. This ground-breaking endeavour has demanded meticulous analysis, particularly in fire prevention and the public’s well-being.
Despite the initial announcement of event cancellation, ongoing discussions with the city have given us hope for a potential path forward. The city’s dedicated staff have allocated substantial resources to assist us in making this vision a reality. We will keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.
