Award winning multi disciplinary Arts festival, TD Mosaic Festival of Mississauga celebrates its 13th year as a musical extravaganza with focus on Music and Dance.
Friday August 3 & Saturday 4, 2018 marks the 13th milestone in the journey of Mosaic Festival’s to celebrate arts and culture in GTA with artists participating from all across the world.
Mississauga (July20, 2018): Mississauga’s longest running most successful multidisciplinary arts festival TD Mosaic 2018, brings yet again an impressive line up of artists including Richa Sharma from Bollywood, Kathak Dance superstars from India, Vidha Lal, Incredible talent from Coke studio Pakistan, Humera Channa and proudly launching Mohsin Shaukat Ali in Festival circuit of Canada, The brilliant sounds of Denique LeBlanc from Quebec and special appearance by local and international talent . Mosaic Fest is the premiere arts and culture festival of Mississauga presenting the best in local and international South Asian and Fusion dance, music, and art.
TD Mosaic Festival 2018 will feature a fine selection of visual arts projects, dance performances, and three full-length concerts with international, national, and local singing sensations and talents.
The festival kicks off with the screening of “Mah’e Mir” a feature film written and directed by noted poet and drama writer Sarmad Sehbai who will be in attendance for Q and A at the living Arts Centre on 27 th of July.
TD Mosaic Mushaira, an annual highlight of the festival is held at Rogers Theatre at the Living Arts Centre on Sunday August 5th, 2018 at 3 pm. The poetry recital event showcases local and international poets reciting in Urdu, English, Hindi, and Punjabi. TD Mosaic Mushaira is organized in collaboration with a number of local and international literary organizations.
Rock The Coliseum, the independent music festival, brings together the best of local talent in an event that, over the years, has seen performances by several local bands and artists that have become national and international success. A free, all-ages festival, RTC is organized by the youth for the youth and is being taken over by a new festival director , Demitrius Nath of Mississauga Music. Mr.Nath has been a part of Mississauga Music scene for a long time and has been recognized by his peers for his support to musicians and arts community. CCAI is pleased to welcome Nath as its news team member.
Rock the Coliseum 2018 takes place on the 3rdand 4th of August at the North Celebration Square Amphitheatre area from 5-11 pm both days.
No Mississauga summer would be complete without Mosaic Festival, the longest running free festival at this location in the city. TD Mosaic Festival 2018, is bigger and better than ever!
The Festival of Celebration Square with usual lineup of delicious local and international foods and unique shopping experiences. The festival this year will present an exciting onsite clay and pottery workshops and demonstrations. Festival includes celebrity MCs including and The star sisters of 1650 Am and Fm 101.3 Shalini and Shivani Dixit.
A yearly highlight of the festival is the wide variety of highly acclaimed dance performances, including modern, Bollywood, and classical. As always, audiences can expect the highest quality of international artists straight from the Bollywood to the Celebration Square stage alongside independent superstars of South Asian music. This year the super charged powerhouse of a Bollywood performer, Richa Sharma takes the main stage for a full length concert.( Zubeidaa, Saathiya (A.R. Rahman); Hera Pheri (Anu Malik); Khakee (Ram Sampath); Baghban ); Kal Ho Naa Ho (Popcorn Khao Mast Ho Jao (Vishal-Shekhar), Saawariya and Om Shanti Om ( Kaante ).
Friday night brings a complete Coke Studio experience with a full 3 hour long concert with top singing sensation, Humera Channa along with Young Mohsin Shaukat Ali, son of legendry Shaukat Ai Sahib. Friday night headlining acts includes a thrilling performance by Denique LeBlanc from Montreal who will rock the crowds with his power packed fusion and dance performance. Over 120 artists will perform this year.
Bollywood dance sensations, Shiamak Dawar Dance Toronto are back once again as the longest running act of Mosaic Festival and the annual grand finale. With over 40 dancers, the team – choreographed by the master himself – will take over the stage to perform their newest spectacle with the latest Bollywood numbers and moves. So Get your dancing shoes on!
CCAI will be naming its annual Art Service Award “The Jim Tovey Award of Excellence in Art Service” to honor the memory of late Jim Tovey, Counillor of Ward one and a long time benefactor and close friend of arts community of our city. Brian Crombie the past chair of Mississauga Arts Council is the recipient of Jim Tovey Excellence in Arts Service Award 2018.
The Free Outdoor Festival takes place on Aug 3rd and4th, 2018 at the Celebration Square Mississauga.
