Toronto: Panorama India, with the support of the Consulate General of India, Toronto celebrated India’s 75th anniversary of Independence Day. The Festival and Grand Parade took place on Sunday,August 21st, 2022 at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto from 12 Noon. This year is the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence Day – Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Panorama India made it a memorable one for every Indian to cherish during their entire life, here inCanada.
Around 150K during the entire day plus 10K people who joined the Grand Parade. The event was carried out safely with the help of Toronto Police and our security team. After two years of Pandemic, The Nathan Phillips Square was transformed into a lively place where everyone immersed into the sites, sounds, and flavors of India, right here in the heart of Toronto.
The event kicked off with the Opening Ceremony, Flag hoisting &National Anthems of Canada and India were sung by our Junior idols Panorama India. Many MP’s & MPP’s of Ontario and a large number of prominent Indo-Canadians & other Nationalities were present on the occasion.
Chairperson of Panorama India Ms. Vaidehi Bhagat welcomed everyone & expressed appreciation towards the overwhelming support from Indo-Canadians and local communities for all the support to arrange Grand Parade. MP Chandra Arya who drove all the way from Ottawa graced the occasion with his presence. MP Anita Anand, MPP Deepak Anand, other elected officials, Officials of Premium Sponsor TD Canada Group, other Corporate sponsors like TransEmerge, SBI Canada, Sunray Group, Nanda Lawyers & Associates, ICICI Bank of Canada, Air Canada were present during this historic event.
During their speeches, all the dignitaries emphasised on the long-standing relationship between Canada and India which is built on shared traditions of democracy, strong ties of friendship & multiculturalism.
They praised the cultural diversity and democratic values of India as well as the contribution of Indian diaspora towards the Canadian economy.
Consul General of India Smt. Aporrva Srivastava remarked that India & Canada share a strong bond that contributes towards the wellbeing of humanity.
The Annual Magazine launch that features the sponsors, supporters and media partners was also published at the event.
Ms. Apoorva Srivastava emphasized on the phenomenal performances that are showcased on the platform of Panorama India that represent the culture & heritage of India. She also said that Canada & India both believe in restoring the multicultural environment promoting the culture & heritage that various communities inherit from generations.
The Grand Parade Marshalls Bollywood stars Rahul Dev & Mugdha Godse joined the Panorama float with full energy and vigour.
The parade had 27 trucks representing different States of India that depicted the culture & heritage of India with music, dance, cultural artifacts which it was a colorful & enriched experience. In addition to the floats, we also had many Marching organizations who with their banners, flags of India & Canada to demonstrate their support & spread the word about their organization. It was a splendid scene of Unity in Diversity.

Panorama India is a not-for-profit umbrella organization established in 1999, that bonds various Indo-Canadian organizations & groups, to celebrate & depict unity in diversity with their rich culture & heritage. Panorama India provides a platform for the Indian cultural diaspora in Toronto to exhibit and showcase their arts and culture.
