Brampton (15 August, 2018): Brampton Malayalee Samajam (BMS)- proudly presents Brampton Boat Race 2018 for the coveted CANADIAN NEHRU TROPHY on 18th August Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm at Professor’s Lake Brampton Ontario.
This is a much anticipated annual boat race in which many teams including international teams participate and vie for the coveted Canadian Nehru Trophy and the $1000 cash prize.
The boat races held in previous years were roaring success. The huge crowds that gathered to watch the races were thrilled by the magnificent fiesta that brought alive the tranquil backwaters of Heart Lake and Professor’s Lake.
Brampton boat race is the one of the only such events in North America that brings alive team spirit, integration and amity of the people of Brampton and the boat racing teams
from the ‘God’s own country – Kerala’.
There will be a Carnival atmosphere, with a colorful water procession, and scintillating races. The event will also be watched on television and online by thousands of Keralites across the world.
This year, leader of the Conservative Party and Parliament Opposition in Canada Hon. Andrew Scheer will be the Chief Guest of the event. And the organizers are expecting a big line up of VIPs and Politicians representing from different levels of the government and guests representing different communities and organizations.
