TiDf-2017: All set for a Full House Show

Toronto (6 October, 2017): The organizers of the 4th annual Toronto International Dance Festival (TiDf) 2017  are thrilled to announce that they are all set ready for a full house show!

The festival will be held on 7th October, 2017 at Lyric Theatre – Toronto Center for the Arts (5040 Yonge St, North York, ON M2N 6R8 ) at sharp 5 pm. The recurring theme of the festival is “Showcasing World Dance Forms – All on One Stage”.

This year, TIDF 2017, presents over 20 culturally diverse dance forms to celebrate Canada’s 150th year and with aim to bring the people from different communities together.

Sakuramai TO, Druid Academy Irish Dancers Inc., The Rhythm Ensemble, SLOGA Dance Company, Mexican Folkloric Group “Tonatiuh”, Kaleidoscope Chinese Performing Arts, Nirkoda Israeli Dancers of Toronto,Sampradaya Dance Creations, Shhhhh Designz Entertainment, Panwar Music & Dance, Adishankara Academy of performing Arts, Dancing Damsels Inc, Roosara Dance,Samba Jess Academy,Belly Up Belly Dance studio, Melodia de Bolivia Dance Academy, Filippino Fiesta, Ensemle Topaz,Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company, Kahawi Dance Theatre are the participants of this year festival.

With such an abundance of dance groups associated with Dancing Damsels, participation in the festival is a great opportunity for dance groups to promote their own work and ventures, and interact with other dancers and dance groups to forge collaborations.

Meanwhile, Kathleen Wynne Premier of Ontario extended her warm greetings to everyone attending the 2017 Toronto International Dance Festival.

“Ontario has long been a meeting place of cultures, ideas and traditions. What makes us Canadian is our respect for this cultural diversity and spectrum of ideas. This event is an opportunity to celebrate the creative energy and cosmopolitan spirit of this great province.” she wrote in her message.

She thanked Dancing Damsels for hosting this festival and for its commitment to showcasing the beauty of the many global traditions of dance. “Events such as this promote cross-cultural understanding and strengthen our reputation as a cultural hub” – she concluded.

TiDf is a celebration of the diversity and prosperity of the dance community in Toronto and beyond, providing opportunity to professional and community dance groups to perform on stage for a multicultural audience.
