Scarborough: Toronto International Dance Festival (TIDF 2024) is seeking talented artists from different dance genres in Canada to join their Summer outdoor festival, “Dance at the Square”.
Hosted by DD Inc, a Multicultural Arts Organization in Toronto, this event will feature a vibrant display of various dance styles at Albert Campbell Square in Scarborough on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Dancers of all cultures and backgrounds, from professional concert dancers to commercial and community performers, are welcome to apply!
“The proposed performances are expected to be a duration between 5 and 7 minutes.
Considering the outdoor stage, please ensure that your technical requirements allow for smooth transitions between pieces in a festival setting. This event is inclusive of all dance genres and forms of expressive movement. Recognizing the artistic value of your work, selected artists will be compensated with a professional standard honorarium”, Paromita Kar, Dance Curator, TIDF 2024.

Our aim is to showcase a wide range of dances and ensure representation from all cultures and countries. Dancers and companies interested in participating can submit their applications through their official website: www.tidfcanada.com. While you submit, kindly provide the name, artist biography, and contact information of the performer or troupe leader. Also share a video sample showcasing the proposed style you intend to perform. (Please ensure the video features actual footage of the performance or rehearsal in costume.) Including your social media handles or website for further reference, is really appreciated.
