JAYU Human Rights Film Festival+ 2023

Toronto: Jayu HRFF+ is excited to present 4 feature-length documentaries including 3 Toronto premieres, as well as accompanying Q&As, and 4 short films from December 7, 2023 – December 10, 2023.

The festival will screen these films at Hot Docs alongside a moving gallery installation of We Grow Together, in partnership with the White Owl Native Ancestry Association and Wisahkotewinowak, featuring the work of 6 Indigenous youth. On closing night, HRFF + is proud to present its 4th annual JAYU Slams Poetry Competition featuring Eddie Lartey at the Ace Hotel.

JAYU is a registered Canadian charity and a leader in the space where the arts and human rights intersect.

They believe strongly that the arts provide the strongest platform to share human rights stories. The arts can be used to educate, to build empathy, to heal, to forge community and to inspire the kinds of conversations necessary to reimagine a more just and equitable world.

Guided by the dedicated team of staff, artists, educators and our Board of Directors, their year-round programming includes annual Human Rights Film Festival, iAM arts and social justice training program, The Hum Podcast and Human Rights Screening Series.
