Established in 2013 as an incorporated non-profit (Reg. No: 8607877) company under the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, Dancing Damsels Inc serves as a proud champion for the promotion of arts and female empowerment within the community. Alongside the annual TIDF shows in the summer and fall seasons, the organization hosts a variety of diverse and unique events centred around furthering their mission. These events include the very successful International Women’s Day Award Gala, Mother’s Day and various workshops.

The Toronto International Dance Festival brought together dozens of performances from a vast array of different cultures, traditions and choreography schools of thought. The event allowed audience members to experience all kinds of dance: traditional and modern, young and old, local and out of province. On top of the spectacular performances, the event included workshops and dance seminars conducted by professional dance choreographers and instructors.

The TIDF is the only dance festival in Canada that encompasses all dance forms from across the globe. Dynamic and distinguished, the event is ground-breaking in its ability to offer a singular platform for performers from a myriad of backgrounds to showcase their talent and love for the performing arts. This one-of-a-kind model has allowed TIDF to emerge as one of the GTA’s most attended events: a must-come for artists and art lovers far and wide. The event brought together members of the entire community, bound together by their love and appreciation for the arts.

On top of the performances, the event acts as a perfect community and family bonding event. With dozens of vendors situated around the forum, with offerings ranging from food and drinks to custom clothing, the TIDF was the perfect opportunity for a holistic family night-out.

If you missed the event, there is no need to worry. Due to the extreme demand, Dancing Damsels also hosts a fall series of the Toronto International Dance Festival. The indoor fall concert will take place on Sunday, September 30th 2018, at the Chinese Cultural Community Center (5183 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1B 5Z5), from 5 pm to 9 pm. This is open only for professional level artists and dance companies who wish to showcase their new or original works. Hosted in a smaller, more intimate setting, this event is the premier opportunity to experience a closer look at the world of dance at its highest level.

Tickets are on sale for just $25 ($10 for kids), which gives you access to the entire TIDF experience. Buy your tickets now at https://www.ddshows.com/tidf-2018. Only while supplies last.
